Position: Fabric / Azure – Data Architect

Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 Months

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the overall data architecture for the Microsoft Fabric and Azure-based data platform.
• Design scalable, secure, and reusable data ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics frameworks.
• Establish architecture standards, best practices, and design patterns across data engineering initiatives.
• Work closely with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Data Stewards, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Design and review data models, semantic models, lakehouse architectures, and data integration patterns.
• Provide technical leadership for ETL/ELT pipelines, Spark workloads, and Fabric implementation.
• Guide performance optimization, scalability, security, governance, and operational readiness of the platform.
• Support CI/CD, environment strategy, release management, and deployment best practices.
• Mentor development teams and conduct architecture and code reviews.
• Ensure adherence to enterprise standards, documentation, and governance requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have

• 10+ years of experience in Data & Analytics with at least 4+ years in a Data Architect role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• OR strong expertise in Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, Delta Lake, and modern Azure data services.
• Deep understanding of:
• Data Architecture
• Data Modeling (Conceptual, Logical, Physical)
• Lakehouse and Data Warehouse architectures
• ETL/ELT design patterns
• Data Integration and Data Governance
• Experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms using SQL, Spark, Python, and Azure services.
• Strong understanding of semantic models, reporting architectures, and Power BI integration.
• Proven experience defining reusable frameworks, standards, and architecture roadmaps.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong stakeholder management and solution design skills.
• Experience in Financial Services / Asset Management / Capital Markets.

Nice-to-Have

• Microsoft Fabric or Azure certifications.
• Familiarity with Data Governance, Data Lineage, and Data Quality frameworks.
• Experience building configurable and reusable data platform frameworks.
