Data Modeler with P&C Insurance

Job Title: Data Modeler with P&C Insurance (Important)

Work Location: NY/NJ/CT(Hybrid/Remote) Duration :: Long Term Contract

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 15 years years strong experience in Data and Insurance .
• 10+ years of experience in data modeling and data design (adjust as needed).
• Strong P&C insurance domain knowledge, especially in:
• Claims (FNOL, reserves, payments, recoveries/subrogation)
• Policy (quotes, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, coverages)
• Broker/Producer (hierarchies, commissions, appointments)
• Insured / Party (customer, risk/locations, roles, relationships)
• Hands-on expertise creating ER models and dimensional models for analytics.
• Strong command of modeling concepts: normalization, referential integrity, slowly changing dimensions, surrogate keys, etc.
• Experience with Erwin Modeling tool.
• Proficiency with SQL and ability to validate data through analysis and profiling.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional and distributed/offshore teams.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience working with cloud data platforms: AWS / Databricks .
• Familiarity with data governance practices: business glossary, cataloging, stewardship, metadata management.
• Exposure to Master Data Management (MDM) for Party/Customer/Producer data.
• Understanding of regulatory/insurance reporting and auditability requirements.
• Agile delivery experience (Scrum/Kanban) and tools (Jira/DevOps).
