Job Description

Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading application management or enterprise systems teams.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the SFIA framework and digital transformation principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Practical experience managing complex application landscapes and vendor ecosystems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic direction and effective delivery of all business applications across our organisation.
  • Develop and deliver an application management strategy that supports our current and future needs.
  • Establish clear processes for the full application lifecycle, including acquisition, development, maintenance, and retirement.
  • Oversee the performance, availability, and reliability of business‑critical applications.
  • Ensure effective incident, problem, and change management so issues are resolved promptly and downtime is minimised.
  • Build strong working relationships across our organisation and act as the main point of contact for application-related advice, priorities, and improvement.
  • Ensure our applications comply with regulatory requirements, data protection obligations, and security standards.
  • Identify and manage risks related to application services, implementing appropriate controls and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead, support, and develop the application management team to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service and foster collaboration, innovation, and shared problem-solving.
