Safran Aerosystems' Wall Township, New Jersey facility is home to the North American headquarters of our Evacuation Systems Business Unit (SEV). Here, you will help design, manufacture, maintain, and support life-saving aircraft evacuation systems, including emergency slides, life rafts, and flotation devices.

You will join the Model Shop Department, taking on the role of Engineering Liaison Specialist within a team of engineers/technicians/others, reporting to the Engineering Test Services Manager.
Engineering Liaison Specialist II position requires an individual to be detail oriented and mechanically inclined with good work ethics. The individual will be responsible for fabricating engineering prototypes, mockups and fixtures as well as setting up and supporting engineering tests. Additionally, a specialist should be available to assist with packing evacuation systems and other model shop tasks as instructed by the supervisor.

Must have welding experience (Vocational School Certificate is preferred)
Must be familiar with basic structural requirements and construction practices.
Must be proficient with power tools utilization in a safe manner.
Must have good communication and planning skills
Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations
Set up mockups, wind machines and various engineering equipment in correct locations for testing with the use of all material handling equipment.
Must be able to read and comprehend test drawings, sketches, and test plans.
Build engineering prototypes in the wood shop by utilizing power tools: power drills, drill press, jig saw, table saw, circular saw, nail gun, grinder, rivet gun etc.
Must have a good understanding of material behavior and properties such as wood, composites, metals and polymers
Perform welding operations to build or modify mockups, metal frames and leg structures
Inspect test center equipment and fill up checklists on daily basis including chemical cabinets.
Operate tele-handler (type VII rough terrain), forklift, scissor lift and pallet jack.
Work independently or in a team setting as required.
Prepare rate test setups and participate in jump testing events.
Support trips to local vendor facilities such as Fazzio, Home Depot, Mobil gas station etc.
Maintain organization and tool control, including wood shop and welding shop
Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of health, safety, and environmental program and culture.
Other duties may be assigned by model shop management
