Structural Engineering Professional - Hybrid/Remote

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Structural Engineering Professional for a Hybrid/Remote position with a Global Engineering Firm located in the Northeast Region of the US. This is a 5+ month contract opportunity.

As an integral member of the design team, you will perform a significant portion of Structural analysis and design for our client's projects. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with Structural Leads, Engineers, Designers, and other disciplines. You will help develop design concepts, complete the analysis and design, and ensure structural requirements are clearly communicated on design documents and in the model.

Responsibilities:

• Under general supervision, competently perform all conventional aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design
• Plan and conduct work requiring judgement in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
• Exercise sound engineering judgement and problem-solving skills
• Possess knowledge of principles and practices of lateral analysis and design (wind and seismic)
• Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control
• Perform calculation checking of other engineers' work
• Take responsibility for managing workload, make and keep commitments, and take full ownership of assigned work
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and/or mentorship to designers/drafters and less experienced engineers
• Be proactive in advancing workflows, systems, and tools within the structural discipline

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer License (PE)
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering
• Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC
• Experience with Structural Engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam
• Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• This position is considered hybrid/remote and may require you to either work in the nearest local office or from your home in the Northeast Region of the US (CT, IA, IL, IN, MA, ME, MI, MN, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SD, VT, WI)
• Able to perform field walks, which may include climbing ladders, crawling under raised access floors, or walking/standing for extended periods of time

Desired skills:

• MS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or MS degree in Structural Engineering
• Experience in semi-conductor industrial or general industrial facilities
• Experience leading small teams

Pay range: up to $64.00 per hour
