Electronics Design Engineer Power & Analog (Defence Systems)

Our client, a long-standing partner to the UK Ministry of Defence, is looking for an Electronics Design Engineer to take ownership of power and analog electronic design across complex, safety-critical defence systems.

This role sits at the heart of missile and firing unit development, working from concept through detailed design, verification and production support.

What youll be doing

• Design analog and power electronic circuits at sub-system and PCB level for missile-borne and land/sea/air-based systems
• Own the electronics design lifecycle: requirements ? schematic design ? review ? integration ? support to manufacture
• Work on technically challenging, high-reliability products with demanding performance, EMC and environmental constraints
• Act as a technical authority within a multidisciplinary engineering team (software, firmware, mechanical, EMC, environmental)
• Provide realistic cost and schedule input to support project delivery
• Support design reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across released designs

What were looking for

• Strong background in electronics design with a focus on power and/or analog circuitry
• Experience taking designs from concept into production within regulated or safety-critical environments
• Comfortable owning complex electronic designs and mentoring or technically guiding others
• Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work across engineering disciplines
• Degree in Electronics or a closely related subject (or equivalent industry experience)

Experience in defence, aerospace, automotive, rail or similar high-integrity sectors is advantageous.

This role is based at their headquarters in Stevenage which plays a key part in missiles operations. The site also offers excellent transportation links and boasts an onsite gym and coffee shop.
