Job Description

My client are an Investment Management firm seeking a Data Center Project Manager. The successful candidate will have;

  1. Lead workplace infrastructure projects across office locations throughout New York City, with an emphasis on power and data systems.
  2. Plan and deliver projects by defining scope, schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and key milestones.
  3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and on-site partners to ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet business objectives.
  4. Oversee the technical delivery of power and data infrastructure, including structured cabling, network connectivity, power distribution, and physical installations within office and data center environments.
  5. Identify project risks, resolve issues proactively, and implement mitigation strategies to maintain successful project outcomes.
  6. Work closely with MEP consultants and building systems vendors to integrate BMS, lighting controls, security systems, and sound masking technologies.
  7. Assist with construction documentation throughout the project lifecycle by reviewing, commenting on, and validating design and drawing packages.
  8. Track project progress, coordinate planned maintenance and infrastructure changes, and maintain accurate documentation to support long-term operational stability.
  9. Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-site infrastructure projects, including coordinating remote teams and ensuring project accountability.
  10. Strong knowledge of rack integration for servers, storage platforms, network switches, and supporting infrastructure components.
  11. In-depth understanding of data center connectivity, including structured cabling, fibre optics, carrier circuits, rack PDUs, and critical systems monitoring.
  12. Hands-on experience using DCIM tools and established processes to monitor and manage infrastructure assets.
  13. Good working knowledge of hot and cold aisle design, IT equipment airflow considerations, and OSI Layers 1–3 for deployment and troubleshooting.
  14. Experience integrating workplace technologies, including BMS, lighting controls, security systems, sound masking, and AV/CATV solutions.
  15. Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills, with a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
