Job Description

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Solution Architect defines and owns the end-to-end architecture for AR processes across SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA, with a strong mandate to modernize the landscape through AI, Generative AI, and intelligent automation. This role sets the technical direction for FSCM functionality, credit card payment processing, cash application, collections, and dispute management, and designs how these processes integrate with third-party platforms such as High Radius (or comparable AR automation tools).

The Architect translates business strategy into a scalable, secure, and future-ready solution architecture — balancing SAP-native capabilities with SAP BTP, AI/ML services, and RPA to reduce manual effort and improve financial controls. This role owns architectural governance, technology selection, and long-term roadmap decisions for AR, partnering closely with business, finance, engineering, and vendor teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own the target-state architecture for SAP ECC and S/4HANA Accounts Receivable, including Credit Management, Cash Application, Collections, Disputes, Deductions, and Payment Processing.
  • Define the AI and automation roadmap for AR — identifying where Generative AI, ML, RPA, and SAP BTP intelligent workflows can replace manual effort in cash application matching, deduction resolution, collections prioritization, and dispute triage.
  • Architect integrations between SAP and third-party AR automation platforms (High Radius or equivalent), including API design, data flow, and reconciliation patterns.
  • Set standards for customer portal integrations, ensuring consistent, secure data exchange between SAP, portals, and external systems.
  • Lead architectural reviews for complex custom enhancements in the FI/FSCM space, ensuring designs are scalable and maintainable.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure AR solutions align with broader IT and data governance standards.
  • Evaluate emerging AI/automation vendors and technologies, providing recommendations on build-vs-buy and platform fit.
  • Provide technical leadership and design oversight to developers and business analysts throughout implementation and deployment.

Technical Skills Required

  • Deep architectural expertise in FSCM modules- Cash, Credit, Collections, Disputes, BCM — across SAP ECC/S4.
  • Strong understanding of Incoming Payments (manual, electronic, lockbox), EBS, and bank reconciliation architecture.
  • Proven experience managing Accounts Receivable processes - Cash Application, Credit Management, Collections, and Disputes- in high-volume, high-transaction business environments.
  • Experience architecting AI/Generative AI, ML, and RPA solutions within SAP FI/FSCM or comparable finance landscapes.
  • Hands-on or architectural experience with SAP BTP, APIs, and enterprise workflow/automation platforms.
  • Required: experience with High Radius or a comparable AR automation platform (e.g., similar cash application, credit, or collections automation tools), including designing API-based integrations with SAP.
  • Extensive experience architecting complex interface and third-party integrations at enterprise scale.
  • Strong grasp of credit card payment processing architecture, including order/payment-based processing and compliance considerations.
  • Experience designing customer portal integration patterns and data security standards.
  • Ability to lead and defend architecture decisions in cross-functional technical governance forums.
