Java Engineering Lead

We are looking for an experienced Java Engineering Lead to drive the architecture, development, modernization, and operational excellence of enterprise-scale Java platforms. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can mentor engineering teams, define technical strategy, and build highly scalable, cloud-native applications.

🔹 Key Responsibilities:
✔ Lead architecture, technical strategy, and roadmap for Java-based applications and services
✔ Drive modernization initiatives, including monolith-to-microservices transformations
✔ Design and develop scalable microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven solutions
✔ Lead integration efforts across enterprise platforms, APIs, messaging systems, and third-party services
✔ Establish engineering standards, coding best practices, and governance processes
✔ Own production readiness, release planning, performance optimization, and operational excellence
✔ Collaborate with Product, Architecture, QE, DevOps, and Business teams
✔ Mentor engineers and conduct architecture and code reviews
✔ Support CI/CD, cloud-native engineering, and deployment automation initiatives

🔹 Required Skills:
✔ 10+ years of software engineering experience
✔ 3+ years in Lead Engineer, Technical Lead, Staff Engineer, or Engineering Manager roles
✔ Strong expertise in Java 8/11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security
✔ Deep understanding of Microservices, Distributed Systems, and REST APIs
✔ Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Event-Driven Architecture, and API Gateway technologies
✔ Strong database experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
✔ Expertise in Design Patterns, Multithreading, Concurrency, Performance Tuning, and Secure Coding
✔ Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps
✔ Experience deploying and supporting applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
✔ Strong Agile, Scrum, and SDLC experience

🔹 Preferred Skills:
⭐ Experience leading large-scale modernization initiatives
⭐ Background in Retail, E-Commerce, Payments, Supply Chain, Financial Services, or other high-transaction environments
⭐ Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
⭐ Experience with OpenAPI, Swagger, Service Mesh, SRE, and Platform Engineering practices
