Job Summary

Freddie Mac is hiring a Lead AI Engineer – Agentic Test Automation to establish an enterprise-scale LLM-powered test automation platform. The engineer will build intelligent agents that automate test creation, maintenance, validation, and quality gates across engineering teams using GitHub Copilot, LLMs, Karate, Playwright, and Java.

This is not a traditional Java developer role. The primary focus is on Agentic AI, AI workflows, and intelligent automation for testing.

The hiring manager strongly prefers candidates with an AI/Agentic Engineering background who also have working knowledge of Java and Karate.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Build LLM-powered agents for enterprise test automation.
• Design intelligent workflows for automated test creation and maintenance.
• Develop AI quality gates across engineering teams.
• Utilize GitHub Copilot for AI-assisted development.
• Integrate Karate API testing with Playwright UI automation.
• Build agentic workflows around Java-based APIs.
• Implement guardrails and structured AI outputs using JSON schemas.
• Collaborate with engineering teams in Agile/Kanban environments.
• Optimize AI-driven software quality and automation processes.
• Drive innovation in enterprise AI-assisted testing.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor''s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of AI / Agentic Engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered agents.
• Strong GitHub Copilot and GitHub platform expertise.
• Experience with Karate and Playwright.
• Comfortable working in Java environments.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
