Application Architect

This position can work 100% remote within WI. WI residency required. No relocation is allowed.

We are seeking an experienced Application Architect to provide technical architecture, Agile leadership, and project oversight for complex mainframe, database, and web-based applications. The role will work across the full SDLC, including requirements, architecture, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and oversee application, technical, and system architecture for major development initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance to developers, DBAs, middleware, and business teams.
• Lead Agile/Scrum teams, facilitate multiple sprints, and ensure timely delivery of project goals.
• Support project planning, risk management, milestones, and delivery of complex technical projects.
• Collaborate with business users and Product Owners to refine requirements and define acceptance criteria.
• Ensure compliance with development standards, policies, security practices, and enterprise guidelines.
• Drive application modernization, process improvements, and adoption of emerging technologies.
• Provide expertise throughout the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Required Skills:

• Strong experience with Application Architecture, Agile/Scrum, and Scrum Master practices.
• Expert knowledge of COBOL, Java, and/or React.
• Experience with CICS, DB2, SQL, stored procedures, and relational databases.
• Experience with Jira, Git/GitHub, ChangeMan, and Control-M/BulkMailer.
• Strong knowledge of mainframe, multi-tier, web-based, and database applications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, business analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• PMP certification is a plus.
