Overview

Own the design system. Shape the experience. Deliver a best-in-class website for one of Australia's most iconic furniture brands - and move fast without compromising quality.

In this hands on, end to end delivery role embedded within our Agile squad, you will own the design system, drive the user experience across a brand new King Living website, and work shoulder to shoulder with developers through the build. You will partner closely with Brand and Marketing to translate creative vision into commercially effective design, QA the front end against your specifications, and use AI powered design tools to move at pace without sacrificing craft.

What You Will Own

• Design System Ownership Build and maintain a scalable component library, patterns, tokens and documentation - producing clear specifications that developers can build from without ambiguity.
• Mock ups, Prototypes & Iteration Create and refine high fidelity designs throughout the project - using AI powered tools to accelerate exploration and produce interactive prototypes for rapid validation.
• Brand & Marketing Partnership Translate brand guidelines and campaign objectives into cohesive website design - aligning on content requirements and resolving trade offs between creative ambition and commercial performance.
• Agile Squad Delivery Participate in Agile ceremonies, coordinate closely with developers, QA the front end against designs, and unblock the team so design intent is preserved in production.
• Customer Journey & CRO Analyse GA4, heatmaps and session recordings to identify friction, design and prioritise A/B tests, and feed conversion learnings back into the design system and roadmap.

You are a UX/UI designer who moves fast, thinks commercially, and takes genuine pride in the quality of what ships.

We're offering a 6 month full time contract based onsite at our Design and Support Centre in Turrella.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in UX, experience design, or CRO within eCommerce or digital retail - with demonstrable commercial outcomes including conversion lifts and revenue impact
• Fluency with AI powered design and productivity tools (Claude, ChatGPT, v0, Bolt, Lovable, Midjourney or equivalent) - active daily use, not just awareness
• Data driven mindset - comfortable with GA4, heatmaps and session recordings, and able to translate data into actionable insight and run A/B tests
• Proven experience briefing development teams with annotated prototypes and acceptance criteria
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills - confident presenting to C suite, challenging assumptions and building consensus across Marketing, Retail, Tech and Brand
• Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) and/or Shopify desirable
• Familiarity with headless CMS such as Contentful desirable
• Background in furniture, luxury or considered purchase retail is advantageous
