Head of People HR Director Senior HR Business Partner
Part-Time Head of People
28 Hours per Week Permanent Position
35,000 per annum (pro rata)
50,000 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE)
Hybrid Working
Flexible working available: The 28 hours can be worked across 3, 4 or 5 days, including condensed hours, depending on what works best for the successful candidate and the needs of the organisation.
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Easily commutable from Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth, Lichfield, Redditch, Bromsgrove, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Stourbridge, Halesowen, Kidderminster, Cannock, Coventry, Nuneaton and surrounding areas.

Are you an experienced Head of People, HR Director, Senior HR Business Partner, People Manager, Head of HR or Human Resources Manager seeking a flexible role that offers both strategic influence and an excellent work-life balance?
Our client is looking for an accomplished HR professional to lead and deliver their People Strategy, partnering with senior leaders to drive organisational performance, employee engagement and positive workplace culture.

The Role
As Head of People, you will:
Develop and implement the organisation's People and HR Strategy
Provide expert HR guidance to senior managers and leadership teams
Lead on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance processes
Support organisational development, restructuring and change programmes
Oversee workforce planning, succession planning and recruitment activities
Manage payroll and pension administration processes
Develop reward, recognition and employee wellbeing initiatives
Monitor HR metrics and workforce data to support informed business decisions
Drive employee engagement, inclusion and organisational culture initiatives
Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and HR best practice
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Significant experience within a senior HR or People leadership role as well as dealing with discpline and grievance cases.
- Proven success developing and delivering strategic HR initiatives
- Experience of dealing with D&G up to and including tribunal level.
- Experience partnering with executive teams and senior stakeholders
- Strong employee relations and employment law expertise
- Experience leading organisational change and transformation projects
- Excellent leadership, coaching and influencing skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
- Experience managing payroll and pension schemes
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery
- Chartered Member or Chartered Fellow of the CIPD Level 7 or equivalent
Desirable Experience
- Degree qualified or equivalent
- Experience within the charity, membership, public sector or not-for-profit sectors
- Experience leading engagement, culture, and wellbeing programmes
- Experience supporting organisational growth and transformation initiatives
