Job Description
System Engineer
Gromelski and Associates, Inc. (GAI) partners with prime contractors to provide professional services. Key service areas include Engineering Design and Documentation; Software Development and Testing; System Integration, Testing and Evaluation; Lab Management and Field Installation; Integrated Logistics Support, Training Development and Delivery, Multimedia Support, and Technical System Support.
System Engineer Job Description:
The system engineer position is a blend of requirements management and hands on engineering. Manage requirements using JIRA, including estimating, tracking and reporting progress towards completion. Support system design tasks, including definition and maintenance of hardware configurations including EOL parts, as well as software and system design tasks including creation of deliverable documentation such as system requirements and system design documentation. Hands on engineering tasks may include test and evaluation, scripting and configuration tasks, problem tracking and resolution, system installation or patching, hardware installation and configuration, or other tasks that may arise as part of an Agile integration team.
System Engineer Required Tasks:
Requirements development, risk management, trade studies and interface development.
Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer/product requirements into a total system solution adhering to technical, schedule and cost imperatives.
Perform functional analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definitions to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
System Engineer Required Duties:
Lead and support complex interface definition across software, cyber, hardware, and other subsystems, ensuring consistency with the system architecture and requirements.
Help prepare, organize, and attend government design reviews (e.g., CDR-like events), including building technical content, traceability views, and interface/MBSE views suitable for senior Government stakeholders.
Drive TBD/TBR burndown, including coordinating with multi-discipline owners, tracking to closure in JIRA, and maintaining clear documentation.
Develop and maintain MBSE models in Cameo, capturing system behaviors, interfaces, and allocations that feed into downstream design, I&T, and verification.
Support requirements development and documentation, including updates to specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and SE artifacts.
Operate within an Agile, PI-based execution model, collaborating with feature teams and SE leadership to align stories, close out SE tasks, and manage pop-up/government-directed work.
Partner closely with software and cybersecurity as primary collaborators, while also engaging with hardware, human factors, and safety engineers on cross-cutting issues.
Contribute to planning for the transition from Development to Integration & Test, ensuring that interface definitions, requirements, and models are ready to support the next phase.
System Engineer Additional Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
Proactive/self-starter. Task driven with ability to work independently.
Team player that takes ownership and develops relationships that fosters team success.
Job: Full Time Employee
Benefits: We offer a competitive benefit package.
