Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and optimize secure and highly available cloud infrastructure for a financial-services environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure, networking, security, automation, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code, along with an understanding of the regulatory and security requirements applicable to financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage Azure infrastructure across production, non-production, and disaster-recovery environments.
  • Deploy and administer Azure Virtual Machines, VNets, Subnets, NSGs, Load Balancers, Application Gateway, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, and Private Endpoints.
  • Implement highly available and resilient infrastructure supporting business-critical financial applications.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, patching, and operational processes using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Manage Azure networking, DNS, routing, connectivity, and hybrid integration with on-premises data centers.
  • Implement Azure security controls including Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, Managed Identities, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, and Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Configure and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance management using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
  • Design and support backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and failover solutions using appropriate Azure services.
  • Implement governance standards including resource organization, tagging, policies, access controls, and cost management.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, security, and performance issues in production environments.
  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes in accordance with financial-services operational standards.
  • Collaborate with application, security, DevOps, network, database, and compliance teams.
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with significant hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure networking, compute, storage, identity, security, and monitoring.
  • Experience with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
  • Strong scripting/automation skills using PowerShell and/or Azure CLI.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN, firewalls, routing, load balancing, and hybrid networking.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, Key Vault, Azure Policy, and managed identities.
  • Experience supporting Windows and/or Linux workloads in Azure.
  • Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working in enterprise environments with strict security and change-management requirements.

Financial Services Experience

Candidates with experience supporting banking, financial services, payments, insurance, or other highly regulated environments are preferred.

Knowledge of the following is highly desirable:

  • PCI DSS

  • FFIEC / financial-services security controls
  • Data encryption and key-management practices
  • Segregation of duties and least-privilege access
  • Audit logging and regulatory compliance
  • Production change and release controls
  • Data protection and business continuity requirements

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
  • HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
