Automation Lead - FinTech - AI

An exciting opportunity has opened for a Automation Lead to join a rapidly growing Payments FinTech. We are looking for a hands-on automation expert with the technical expertise and leadership skills to manage and develop a team of Automation Engineers across the payments platforms.

You will:

• Own the API-focused automation strategy.
• Lead a team of 6x QA engineers
• Extend frameworks using REST Assured, Postman/Newman and internal tooling.
• Build contract-testing, data-driven and performance-testing frameworks.
• Embed automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Establish engineering standards through reviews, pairing and mentoring.

Essential experience:

• Building automation frameworks from scratch.
• Deep API automation and contract-testing knowledge.
• Strong Java/JVM or Golang coding ability.
• Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or equivalent.

Background:

• Proven experience in a FinTech, Payments or Tier 1 Bank environment
• 7+ years in Automation Testing, including ownership of framework building
• People Management skills, history leading teams of QA engineers
• Familiar & active user of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT etc

Desirable:

• Fuzz, contract and performance testing.
• JMeter, Gatling or k6.
• Playwright, Selenium or Cypress.
• ISO 20022, card processing, payment schemes or open banking.
