Job Description

MHE Trainer
Ashby-de-la-Zouch (Home of Hula Hoops, popchips, Nik Naks, and more…)
Shift: Monday - Friday, days, with flexibility required to deliver training across other shifts when needed.

Join our snack-loving team
We’re looking for an MHE Trainer to join us at KP Snacks. If you’re ready to bring your ideas to the table, grow your skills and be part of a team that values what makes you, you – this could be your next big move.

Who are we?
We’re KP Snacks, part of the Intersnack family. Across more than 30 countries, over 15,000 of us work together to make the snacks people love – from Hula Hoops to McCoy’s. In the UK, we’re a team of around 2,400 colleagues, based across seven sites and our Slough HQ. We’re proud of our close-knit culture, where we speak up, celebrate differences and push boundaries together.

About the role

This is a hands-on position where you'll deliver training, assessments and refresher courses across a range of equipment, while maintaining accurate training records and supporting site compliance requirements. You'll work closely with managers and operational teams to plan training activity, ensure certifications remain up to date and help create a strong safety culture across the site.

We're looking for someone who is confident training and coaching others, enjoys building strong working relationships and can manage their own workload effectively. You'll be a visible presence on site, supporting colleagues, identifying development opportunities and ensuring all operators are trained, assessed and authorised before using equipment.

What’s in it for you?
We believe in rewarding our colleagues and helping them thrive. Here’s a flavour of what we offer:

  • Competitive annual salary

  • KP Pension Plan with up to 7% matched contributions

  • 25 days holiday, with the option to buy up to five additional days for more flexibility

  • Comprehensive healthcare support including Health Cash Plan, Digital GP and Employee Assistance Programme

  • KP4ME benefits platform with discounts, cashback, wellbeing tools and everyday savings

  • Enhanced family-friendly policies to support colleagues at every stage of life

What will you be doing?

  • Delivering MHE training and assessments
Provide training, evaluations and authorisations across a range of equipment including Counterbalance, Pivot Steer, Powered Pallet Truck, Scissor Lift, Cherry Picker and Towing Buggy

  • Planning and coordinating training activity
Create and manage training schedules, ensuring certifications, refresher training and compliance requirements are completed in a timely manner

  • Maintaining training records and compliance documentation
Keep accurate records of all training activity, assessments and refresher qualifications to support internal and external compliance requirements

  • Promoting a strong safety culture
Support safe working practices by ensuring operators are competent, authorised and working in line with company policies and statutory requirements

  • Supporting operational excellence
Review pre-shift equipment inspection records, identify trends or areas for improvement and work with site management to address training and compliance needs

We’d love to hear from you if you can bring:

  • Recognised MHE instructor qualification
Hold a recognised instructor qualification and have at least two years' experience delivering MHE training

  • Experience across multiple MHE types
Demonstrable experience training and assessing colleagues on Counterbalance, Pivot Steer, Powered Pallet Truck, Scissor Lift, Cherry Picker and Towing Buggy equipment

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
Ability to manage training schedules, maintain accurate records and proactively plan future training requirements

  • Strong communication and coaching skills
Comfortable engaging with colleagues at all levels and adapting your approach to support different learning styles

  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
Passionate about promoting safe behaviours, identifying development opportunities and driving high standards across the site
