Job Description
Essential Job Function
• Manage and maintain server infrastructure across physical, virtual, and cloud (Azure) environments, and other IT infrastructure components.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex issues in the production environment.
• Implement security hardening and apply patches to affected systems to remedy vulnerabilities in accordance with IT security best practices.
• Automate repetitive tasks using scripting tools including PowerShell, Python, and Ansible.
• Lead or perform OS patching and upgrades for Windows Server, RHEL, and CentOS environments.
• Manage enterprise directory services including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Okta.
• Provide technical oversight, management, installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and administration of FirstNet systems, including Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory GPOs, Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Cloud Services (Entra, Intune, and Virtual Machines), Nutanix, and ServiceNow.
• Document and maintain SOPs, system documentation, and processes and procedures relating to Systems Operations using the government’s preferred file storage platform.
• Perform routine performance monitoring, event log monitoring, and maintenance tasks on servers using tools such as SolarWinds.
• Conduct daily health check monitoring of servers, virtualized environments, and the corporate domain.
• Support remediation of security and other vulnerabilities in accordance with the IT Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) process.
• Provide technical support and assistance to staff members; collaborate with IT professionals to develop and implement IT solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
• 5 or more years of experience with Windows Server/Active Directory, endpoint management, and virtualization (Nutanix, VMware, or Hyper-V).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Conditional Access, MFA, and SSO/SAML/OIDC.
• Experience with PowerShell automation, GPO rationalization, and policy migration to Intune.
• Experience with security baselines (CIS/NIST), patching, and vulnerability remediation.
• Deep knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and hybrid identity models; familiarity with authentication protocols including Kerberos, NTLM, SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
• Experience with Entra Connect (Azure AD Connect), Cloud Sync, and Intune.
• Active Secret clearance required; must complete Department of Commerce PIV and Common Access Card (CAC) requirements per Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12).
Desired Qualifications
• Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) certification.
• AZ-104 (Azure Administrator), SC-300 (Identity and Access Administrator), MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator), MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator), or ITIL Foundation certification.
• Experience with Microsoft Copilot, ServiceNow, and other IT products with embedded AI capabilities.
• Experience developing AI-driven solutions to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Proficiency with Power BI for data analytics and reporting.
