R&D Tax Manager -

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly regarded financial services firm in Central London to recruit an experienced R&D Tax Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing specialist tax team, working with an impressive portfolio of innovative businesses across a range of industries. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality R&D tax relief claims, building strong client relationships, and contributing to the continued success of the firm's advisory offering.
As R&D Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a varied client portfolio, managing claims from initial consultation through to submission while providing expert technical advice throughout the process.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing a portfolio of R&D tax relief clients across a broad range of sectors Preparing and reviewing R&D tax relief claims, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance Liaising directly with clients to understand qualifying R&D activities and associated expenditure Preparing robust technical reports and financial calculations to support claims Advising clients on R&D tax legislation and identifying opportunities to maximise available reliefs Managing enquiries from HMRC and supporting clients throughout the process Working collaboratively with Partners and the wider tax team on complex client matters Developing and maintaining strong client relationships through exceptional service Supporting, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and HMRC guidance
The successful R&D Tax Manager will have:
Previous experience managing R&D tax relief claims within an accountancy practice or specialist tax consultancy A strong understanding of UK R&D tax legislation and HMRC guidance Excellent analytical and technical skills Strong client relationship management experience The ability to explain complex technical matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders Experience reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues ACA, ACCA, ATT, CTA or equivalent qualification (or qualified by experience)
