This is a rare opportunity to lead a sizeable finance operations team whilst driving meaningful change, modernisation and continuous improvement across core finance processes. Working closely with senior leadership, you will have genuine influence over the future direction of finance operations and play a key role in an ambitious transformation agenda.
Your new role
Reporting to a board-level senior finance leader, you will lead a large team of finance professionals across Record-to-Report (R2R) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) functions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, developing and inspiring a high-performing finance operations team.
- Driving a culture of accountability, service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Overseeing month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany accounting and statutory reporting support.
- Ensuring efficient and effective Procure-to-Pay operations, including supplier payments, invoice processing and query management.
- Maintaining strong financial controls, governance and compliance frameworks.
- Identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate processes.
- Leading finance transformation initiatives that improve efficiency, controls and customer experience.
- Establishing and monitoring KPIs, performance metrics and service levels.
- Partnering with senior finance stakeholders, operational leaders and external auditors.
- Supporting the wider finance strategy through operational excellence and best practice.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a proven track record of leading sizeable finance teams within a complex organisation.
You will demonstrate:
- Significant leadership experience across finance operations, shared services or transaction services environments.
- Strong expertise in Record-to-Report and/or Procure-to-Pay processes.
- Excellent knowledge of financial controls, governance and compliance.
- Experience delivering change, transformation and process improvement initiatives.
- The ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- A passion for developing people and building high-performing teams.
Experience within a large corporate, listed business, regulated environment, infrastructure or shared services operation would be highly advantageous.
What you'll get in return
This is more than just a finance operations leadership role. It is an opportunity to:
- Lead a business-critical function within a large and highly respected organisation.
- Influence major finance transformation and improvement programmes.
- Work closely with senior finance leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Drive automation, efficiency and service excellence at scale.
- Develop and mentor a talented team whilst leaving a lasting impact on the organisation.
- Join a business with an ambitious growth and improvement agenda.
If you are an experienced finance leader looking for a role where you can combine operational excellence, transformation and people leadership, we'd love to hear from you.
