Description: Performs a variety of technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine reactions. Makes and records observations; performs simple calculations; and collects and prepares data for evaluation. Conducts laboratory support functions such as stocking and distributing supplies and equipment; arranging and dismantling apparatus; and collecting, washing, and storing glassware. Performs technical and record keeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements. May analyze compounds and manage corporate compound collection. Performs technical procedures in one or more of the following areas: Production, Research and Development, Quality Control/Assurance, and/or Compliance/Environmental.
Background/Need: Group share a common operational vision to meet the challenges of an increasingly congested and contested space domain by partnering to support the Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission.
The project team is establishing an Operating Location in campus; MA The operators will support on-orbit operations for the Satellite System Hosted Payload (QZSS-HP) mission. The payloads will be mounted on multiple communication satellites and respectively. The hosted payloads will support Space Domain Awareness (SDA) utilizing on-board processing to enable Indications and Warnings on tactical timelines.
Operators will be responsible for performing satellite operations and associated activities. In this position, operators will be responsible for monitoring payload health and status, identifying & responding to anomalous conditions, executing job aid procedures, reporting system status and ensuring compliance with established procedures relative to quality, productivity, maintenance, and safety by performing assigned duties.
3 full-time operators will be hired to support 24/7 operations: One day shift operator, one mid shift operator, and two-night shift operators. Operations will be supported in two locations, Main Campus s Facility in Lexington, MA & Radar Site in Westford, MA. Operators at a secret clearance level will be based out the Radar Site in Westford, MA. Once operators are cleared to the TS/SCI, they should be willing and able to work out of either location. Both facilities are CLOSED areas.
All positions will require working weekends, holidays, and off-hours in support of satellite operations. Time-off requests will be coordinated with the Operations Director.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Monitor sensor telemetry and execute daily procedures to ensure safe operation of payloads. Identify and respond to system anomalies, coordinating with appropriate personnel for spacecraft recovery.
- Achieve and maintain operational proficiency, leveraging mission unique software to complete daily tasks
- Communicate with the Factory Support Center (FSC), Engineering, Development, Integration, and Sustainment (EDIS), Mission, Space Operations Command (SpOC), and Space Systems Command (SSC) concerning ongoing operations and/or anomalies.
- Maintain operations logs and conduct handover procedures in accordance with prescribed Tactics Techniques and Procedures.
- Support FSC and EDIS in performing maintenance activities, troubleshooting procedures and implementation of prescribed anomaly resolutions.
Required:
- Demonstrated track record of successful critical mission execution on a tight timeline.
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience following and executing formal operating and safety procedures.
- Demonstrated ability and confidence to make sound decisions.
- Self-motivation, strong communication skills, ability to work within a team.
- Experience supporting 24/7 operational missions/programs.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarization with space domain awareness concepts and operations is desirable
Schedule:
- 1 Day shift operator position: Friday Tuesday 06:30 15:00
- 1 Mid shift operator position: Wednesday Sunday 14:30 23:00
- 1 Night shift operator positions: Friday Tuesday 22:30 07:00
- This position will require off-hours support of satellite operations. Candidates will have a primary schedule but must be flexible to fill in at other times when/if needed.
Others:
- Clearance: Active Department of Defense SECRET security clearance required in order to be submitted and considered for the position. The position requires access to classified information. The candidate must have or be able/willing upgrade to a TOP SECRET SCI security clearance and maintain it.
- Work Location: This position will be 100% onsite due to the nature of the work.
- Interview Process: 1st round interview will be a Zoom with the hiring manager. 2nd round interview will be a Zoom with additional team members as needed.
