Data Engineer - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Engineer for a contract position with a Major Insurance Company located in San Antonio, TX. This is a contract opportunity. This is a hybrid position.

Compensation: $70.00 - $90.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:
This role focuses on data engineering within the property and casualty insurance sector. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in technical development, data design, and implementing AI-first strategies using modern data platforms like Snowflake and Databricks. This position requires translating complex business needs into actionable data solutions within a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform technical development, data design, and implementation within the P&C insurance industry
• Implement AI-first strategies utilizing modern data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks
• Translate complex business requirements into actionable data solutions
• Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment

Primary Requirements:

• Extensive experience (5 years) in data engineering, with proven expertise in technical development, data design, and implementation in the insurance industry, preferably within P&C
• Solid understanding of property & casualty insurance operations
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment
• Experience implementing AI-first strategies and working with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake; Databricks, big data, analytics) relevant to P&C insurance
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience with cloud-based data architectures commonly used in the P&C insurance industry (e.g., Snowflake, AWS)
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and industry-standard data engineering tools and frameworks
• Exposure with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), LangChain, and vector databases
• Experience with other advanced analytics approaches in property & casualty insurance for AI-centric products
