Oracle DBA

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Oracle Application DBA with strong expertise in Oracle database administration, production support, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing enterprise Oracle environments, with Oracle 19c preferred and strong experience working with Oracle databases from 11g onwards.

The candidate should have solid knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, performance tuning, SQL/PLSQL, scripting, cloud platforms, and database monitoring tools. Experience supporting Eagle and high-frequency database environments is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support enterprise Oracle database environments in production and non-production environments.
• Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, backup, recovery, and capacity planning.
• Provide strong production support and troubleshooting for critical database issues.
• Manage and maintain Oracle 19c environments, with experience in Oracle 11g and later versions.
• Administer Oracle RAC and ASM environments.
• Configure and support Oracle Data Guard for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Perform database backup and recovery using RMAN.
• Monitor database health, availability, performance, and capacity.
• Perform SQL query optimization and database performance tuning.
• Analyze execution plans, wait events, locks, blocking sessions, and resource utilization.
• Develop and maintain SQL and PL/SQL scripts and procedures as required.
• Automate database administration tasks using Shell scripting and Python.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database environments using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and enterprise monitoring tools.
• Work with monitoring platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and AppDynamics.
• Support database deployments and changes through DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, development, and DevOps teams to resolve database-related issues.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Support database migrations and deployments across OCI, AWS, and Azure cloud environments.
• Prepare and maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and recovery plans.
• Participate in on-call and production support activities when required.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration.
• Oracle 19c experience preferred.
• Strong experience with Oracle 11g, 12c, 18c, and/or 19c.

• Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD concepts and database deployment processes.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, or Azure.
• Strong production support, troubleshooting, and incident management experience.

Highly Desirable

• Experience with Eagle or Eagle Investment Systems.
• Experience supporting high-frequency / high-volume database systems.
• Experience with mission-critical financial or enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
• Experience working in 24x7 production environments.
