Role - Sr/Lead AI/ML Engineer

Location: Minnetonka, MN (Onsite/Hybrid)

  • Must be local to the Minnetonka, MN area and available for onsite work.

Rate: $70/hr. on C2C/1099 (OR) $60/hr. on W2 (Max Rates)

We are seeking a Senior/Lead AI/ML Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and support scalable AI-powered applications, agents, and automation platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering skills, hands-on GenAI/LLM experience, and expertise in cloud-native technologies.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience
  • Strong Python, Go, or TypeScript
  • Hands-on LLM/GenAI, AI Agents, and AI application development
  • Experience with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform
  • Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, GitHub
  • Experience with APIs, distributed systems, and microservices
  • Strong knowledge of system architecture, security, testing, reliability, and observability
  • Ability to independently drive solutions from design through production
  • Strong communication and technical leadership skills
  • Healthcare/enterprise experience is a plus

Job description

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of production systems.
  • Strong software development skills using Python, Go, TypeScript, or comparable backend languages.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, building, deploying, and operating cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or comparable platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or comparable declarative tooling.
  • Strong working knowledge of Docker, containerization, CI/CD, GitHub, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Experience with Kubernetes or comparable container orchestration platforms.
  • Experience designing observable production systems using logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and operational monitoring.
  • Hands-on experience building applications using large language models, foundation model APIs, or modern AI development frameworks.
  • Ability to design APIs, distributed services, asynchronous workflows, and reusable platform components.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, testing, reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Ability to independently navigate ambiguous technical problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and drive solutions from concept through production.
  • High agency and demonstrated ability to remain current with rapidly evolving AI technologies and development practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
