Job Description

QA Analyst

Introduction

The QA Analyst will provide overall leadership for quality assurance strategy, planning, execution, and governance for a large-scale Electronic Health Record (EHR) SaaS implementation. This position requires strong experience in healthcare application testing, data migration validation, ETL testing, functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing (UAT) support, defect management, vendor coordination, and stakeholder reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall QA strategy, planning, and execution for the EHR SaaS implementation.
  • Develop and maintain QA governance, testing approach, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Serve as the primary QA point of contact for program leadership, IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Provide regular reporting on testing status, risks, metrics, and defects to project management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure defects and issues are tracked, prioritized, resolved, retested, and validated before deployment.
  • Lead validation testing for data migration and conversion from legacy EHR and ancillary systems.
  • Review and test ETL processes, data mapping documents, validation rules, and reconciliation reports.
  • Coordinate testing of interfaces, inbound/outbound data feeds, and downstream reporting impacts.
  • Lead functional testing across EHR modules, including clinical, scheduling, orders, medications, documentation, and billing.
  • Validate end-to-end workflows across user roles, including clinicians, nurses, pharmacy, registration, and administrative staff.
  • Execute and oversee system testing, integration testing, regression testing, and UAT support.
  • Ensure SaaS configuration changes and vendor releases are fully tested.
  • Partner with business and clinical SMEs to prepare UAT scenarios and test cases.
  • Support and guide UAT execution, defect triage, and sign-off activities.
  • Track defects and test execution using testing tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, ALM, Jira).
  • Support manual and automated testing approaches where applicable.
  • Ensure documentation meets audit, compliance, and project delivery standards.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 11+ years of experience in QA/Test Lead or QA/Test Manager roles.
  • 11+ years of hands-on experience with data validation, data migration, and ETL testing.
  • 11+ years of experience leading functional testing across EHR modules.
  • 11+ years of experience leading validation testing for data migration and conversion.
  • 11+ years of experience coordinating testing of interfaces, data feeds, and reporting impacts.
  • 11+ years of experience creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, and test evidence.
  • 11+ years of strong functional testing experience with EHR or healthcare SaaS platforms.
  • 11+ years of experience coordinating testing activities with vendors and teams.
  • 11+ years of proficiency with test management tools such as Azure DevOps, ALM, or Jira.

Preferred Experience

  • 8+ years of prior experience with EHR implementations.
  • 6+ years of knowledge of healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, ICD, and CPT.
  • 6+ years of understanding of HIPAA, privacy, security, and government healthcare compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting state or public sector healthcare systems.
