RESPONSIBILITIES The Subject Matter Expert - Intermediate performs a variety of network engineering task including but not limited to the below.
With minimal direction, provides support, analysis and research into exceptionally complex problems, and processes relating to the subject matter.
Serves as technical expert on executive-level project teams providing technical direction, interpretation and alternatives.
Thinks independently and demonstrates exceptional written and oral communications skills.
Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.
Develops technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Work is performed without appreciable direction.
Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
Expertise is in a particular area of Information Technology (e.g., Information Systems Architecture, Telecommunications Systems Design, Architecture, Implementation, Information Systems Integration, Software Development Methodologies, Security Engineering, Communications and Network Systems Management). REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Minimum ten (10) years in a relevant field, (Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology).
Deployment of WAN networks
Deployment of a separate Pulse Secure Remote Access VPN architecture be able to provide tier II/III troubleshooting support
Support the design and implementation of WAN equipment on the NIPR and SIPR
Technology refreshes and upgrades
Wireless technologies
IPv6 transition and transition
Tier III network troubleshooting
Provide network engineering services to support the full WAN lifecycle including design, implementation, installation, testing and transition to sustainment
Analysis of hardware, hardware configuration, security policy, network management, network protocols and security solutions in support of network functions related to the interoperability of the LAN, WAN (NIPR & SIPR) and DISN Security/Certification Requirements:
Must have Secret Clearance with IT-I eligibility
Must have active CCNP-E (CCIE preferred) and Check Point Security Administrator
Must have one of the following DoD 8570 Baseline IAT Level III certifications
CASP+ CE
CCNP Security
CISA
CISSP (or Associate)
GCED
GCIH
Additional certifications preferred:
Check Point Certified Security Expert
AWS Cloud Practitioner
Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals
ComeTIA Cloud+
