Scope of Work: The Navy Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Case Execution Modernization Initiative (CEMI) will provide the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Foreign Nationals the enterprise case management system replacement for MISIL. The CEMI will serve as the case execution capability to comprehensively and efficiently access, integrate, manage, track, evaluate, and transfer case execution, logistics, requisition, procurement, contracting, funding, financial, accounting, and services data across the FMS community activities. Modus21, LLC is developing the Sea Services Security Assistance Logistics and Execution (S3ALE) application as part of a systems-of-systems solution to replace the obsolete MISIL system. Summary of role: The Data Engineer with expertise in AWS Glue will be supporting a large-scale data migration effort from a legacy system to a modern application. This role will focus on designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines to ensure data integrity and quality and enable secure, efficient migration in compliance with DoD requirements. As a member of the Data Migration team, the Data Engineer will be working collaboratively to deliver a scalable and reliable solution that supports mission objectives. Responsibilities: • Design, develop and maintain of AWS Glue pipelines to support large-scale data transformations
• Implement data mapping, transformation, and validation processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality • Collaborate with requirements, development, architecture, and infrastructure teams and key stakeholders to deliver reliable data solution that align with overarching data strategies • Provide technical leadership on AWS Services (e.g. Glue, Lambda, Redshift, S3) to optimize data processing and integration • Troubleshoot and optimize data ingestion and transformation jobs for performance and scalability • Develop and maintain documentation for migration processes, workflows, and data models • Provide technical support during testing, validation and cutover activities • Ensure compliance with DoD data handling, security, and governance standards Requirements/Experience: • BA/BS/MS degree in related area
• Minimum of eight (8) years experience in a data engineering role • Required Sec+ Certification
• Required AWS Cloud Practitioner Foundations Certification • Hands-on expertise with AWS Cloud (EC2, S3, Lambda, Redshift, IAM) and AWS Glue • Strong proficiency with SQL and scripting languages • Strong understanding of DevSecOps and CI/CD best practices for data pipelines • Strong presentation, customer interfacing, and experience working remotely (by phone, virtually, etc.)
• Strong collaboration, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
• Must be a US citizen and hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) TOP SECRET Security Clearance
