Job Description
Teach South Sussex are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Brighton seeking a dedicated
Learning Support Assistant
to join their team on a full-time basis from
September . This is an ongoing
1:1 support role , working with a pupil in either
Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 . The school is currently finalising internal staffing arrangements, so the successful candidate will be placed within the most suitable class before the start of term.
The role will involve: Providing consistent 1:1 support to help a pupil access learning. Building a positive, trusting relationship with the child. Supporting both academic progress and social development. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies. Encouraging independence while maintaining a calm, patient approach. We are looking for someone who: Has previous experience working with children in a school, childcare or similar setting. Is patient, resilient and adaptable. Has a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development. Can commit to a full-time, ongoing position. Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
