2nd Shift Press Supervisor

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented 2nd Shift Press Supervisor to oversee our printing operations. This role requires an experienced press operator and/or supervisor with a strong background in printing, press maintenance, and quality control. The ideal candidate will lead a team of press operators, ensure efficient production, and maintain high-quality printing standards while coordinating with other departments to meet deadlines and client expectations.

• HOURS: Second shift, Monday-Friday 2:30-11:30pm. Flexibility to work additional hours as business needs require.

• PEOPLE LEADERSHIP: Lead second-shift operations across the Flexographic Press, Offset Press, and Finishing departments. Set clear expectations, coach and train employees, and hold the team accountable for performance, attendance, safety, quality, and conduct. Conduct quarterly conversations and annual reviews, recognize strong performance, and handle difficult conversations, investigations, and corrective action with HR support.

• OVERSEE PRODUCTION: Coordinate staffing and priorities to keep jobs on schedule, and monitor productivity, downtime, and waste. Perform quality checks and press approvals to make sure jobs meet customer specifications and Epsen Hillmer's standards. Resolve production and quality issues quickly, identify recurring problems, escalate when more support is needed, and hand off clearly to first-shift leaders.

• PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: Apply Lean, 5S, and Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) to reduce waste, downtime, and rework. Review safety, quality, production, and waste with employees during daily check-ins, assign follow-up on obstacles, and encourage employee ideas. Enforce all safety policies, PPE use, and equipment safety procedures, and document injuries, incidents, and quality concerns.

• KNOWLEDGE: Previous experience in printing, manufacturing, or a related production environment, plus previous supervisory or management experience, is required. Printing industry experience is strongly preferred, along with working knowledge of offset, flexographic, or finishing operations. Familiarity with Lean, 5S, or daily improvement practices is preferred; willingness to learn and apply Epsen Hillmer's approach is required.

• SKILLS: Strong leadership skills with the confidence to make decisions and hold employees accountable, and the ability to have difficult conversations and manage performance professionally. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to review production information, job specifications, and quality requirements, and basic computer skills to complete reviews, documentation, and production reports. Lead by example with fairness, consistency, and respect: communicate expectations clearly, address concerns promptly, and support collaboration among the Offset Press, Flexographic Press, and Finishing departments. 

• ABILITIES: THIS ROLE IS ONSITE IN OMAHA, NE and requires the ability to work at our office at 132nd & L Street. Ability to lift and move 50 pounds, and to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods. Comfortable working in a noisy, rapidly evolving environment. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions when senior management is not onsite, and willingness to learn multiple departments, printing processes, and equipment. Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to pass a criminal background check, drug/alcohol screen, physical assessment, and audio and color vision tests.
