Job Description

What's the role?

Seeking a highly organised and efficient News Coordinator who enjoys collaborating with people and solving problems.

In this role you will collaborate across several news channels and departments to coordinate the administrative operations of the News editorial team at Sky News.

This role will be based out of our brand new News studio in Surry Hills, Sydney and offered as a Max term contract ending in April 2027.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate news rosters utilising roster software. Communicate roster changes with staff and work with managers to approve annual leave requests and seek replacements to cover leave
  • Distribute staffing lists
  • Coordinate travel for domestic and foreign assignments
  • Provide support where needed for big news events
  • Complete the hire process and onboarding for new staff using Workday software, liaising with Finance and HR departments
  • Process invoices for news operations and assign to relevant departments
  • Complete the administrative steps for the set up of new suppliers for news operations
  • Submit Purchase Order requests for approval for new and existing suppliers
  • Develop supporting guides and documents for news operations
