Description
We are looking for a Business Analyst to join a contract opportunity with permanent potential in Columbus, Ohio. This position supports Agile technology initiatives by translating business needs into clear functional direction while helping teams stay organized and delivery-focused. The role works closely with stakeholders and technical partners to shape requirements, guide sprint execution, and keep work aligned with business priorities.
Responsibilities:
Translate stakeholder goals into well-defined business and functional requirements that support solution design and delivery.
Lead Agile team events such as sprint planning sessions, daily check-ins, reviews, and retrospectives to promote steady progress.
Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, workflow diagrams, and supporting documentation that give teams clear implementation guidance.
Collaborate across business units, developers, quality assurance teams, and project leadership to move initiatives forward effectively.
Maintain and refine the product backlog, ensuring priorities reflect business value and current project needs.
Surface delivery risks, help resolve team blockers, and recommend improvements that strengthen team processes over time.
Monitor project activity and provide timely updates so stakeholders remain informed on progress, issues, and next steps.
Requirements
Background working as a Business Analyst within an information technology environment.
Hands-on experience serving in a Scrum Master capacity on Agile software development teams.
Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, create documentation, and map business processes clearly.
Experience writing user stories and defining acceptance criteria for development teams.
Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum practices and the tools commonly used to support them.
Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, or comparable platforms used for Agile planning and collaboration.
Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills when working with diverse stakeholders.
Exposure to cross-functional software teams; familiarity with APIs or related technical concepts is helpful.
