Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to design, build, maintain, and optimize scalable cloud-based data platforms that support enterprise analytics, reporting, operational insights, and business decision-making. This hands-on engineering role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in AWS, SQL, Python, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing who enjoys building reliable, high-performance data pipelines and enabling data-driven business outcomes.
The successful candidate will develop and support enterprise-scale data solutions, manage data movement across multiple systems, optimize cloud data environments, and ensure the delivery of trusted, analytics-ready data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, maintain, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Build automated data ingestion processes from APIs, relational databases, applications, flat files, streaming platforms, and third-party systems.
  • Develop reusable, scalable, and maintainable data integration frameworks.
  • Design, implement, and optimize AWS-based data engineering solutions.
  • Build and support enterprise data lakes and cloud data warehouse environments.
  • Create curated analytical datasets for reporting, business intelligence, and advanced analytics.
  • Monitor production data pipelines, investigate failures, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Implement data quality, validation, governance, lineage, and monitoring processes.
  • Optimize SQL queries and data processing workflows for performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, architects, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.
  • Document technical designs, data flows, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in production support, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a related role.
  • 5+ years of hands-on SQL experience supporting enterprise-scale environments.
  • Strong Python programming and scripting experience.
  • Experience designing, developing, and supporting production ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise data warehouse solutions.
  • Experience supporting production data operations, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing performance.
  • Hands-on AWS experience with several of the following services:
    • Amazon S3
    • AWS Glue
    • AWS Lambda
    • Amazon Redshift
    • Amazon Athena
    • Amazon EMR
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
