Senior Investment Officer, Corporate Finance The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is financing Infrastructure for Tomorrow in Asia and beyond - infrastructure with sustainability at its core. Project and Corporate Finance Clients Department, Global (PCF) is responsible for expanding AIIB client relationships among private-sector clients and sponsors in the infrastructure sector at the senior management and shareholder levels. PCF is structured around three product sub-teams (i.e., project finance, corporate finance, direct equity) and focuses on the origination and execution of nonsovereign-backed financing (NSBF) transactions across the range of AIIB-covered sectors, geographies, client types, and products. PCF drives the ongoing expansion of AIIB NSBF volumes, targeting lead-role assignments with the objective of positioning AIIB as a "go to" bank for private-sector infrastructure finance. The Senior Investment Officer, Corporate Finance, will report to Manager, PCF, and is expected to originate and lead investment projects and contribute strongly to management of the relevant business line.
Responsibilities:
- Originate and execute investment projects.
- Identify, assess, and structure investment opportunities, and maintain a strong project pipeline for relevant sectors and geographies.
- Lead project teams of legal, technical, and safeguard specialists to conduct the due diligence of investment proposals for internal investment committees.
- Conduct research on projects and clients.
- Arrange, prepare, and lead client meetings, including preparing presentations, memos, and reports.
- Support internal Bank coordination through information exchanges and working with relevant Bank units.
- Support the department in achieving their targets and objectives.
- Manage key internal stakeholders and the AIIB project approval process, ensuring that projects comply with AIIB's policies and strategies.
- Mentor and guide junior members of the team.
- Perform ad hoc tasks assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant professional experience in other multilateral development banks or top-tier global financial institutions.
- Master's degree in finance, economics, development studies, and/or related fields, or a bachelor's degree supported by strong practical experience.
- Experience leading an investment team (or equivalent).
- Investment acumen, with a track record of building up quality investment portfolios.
- Strong credit and structuring skills for different investment tools.
- Exceptional track record of achieving results and problem solving.
- Significant experience in a variety of business sectors in a broad range of geographical areas covered by PCF.
- Operational experience in project and corporate finance across multiple sectors and jurisdictions.
- Thorough understanding of the environment, social, and governance framework in infrastructure development.
- Strong managerial and interpersonal skills to promote and strengthen a teamwork environment, with demonstrated ability managing diverse teams and stakeholders, both internal and external.
- High proficiency and command of English both written and spoken.
