SmartSourcing are recruiting on behalf of our defence client SC Cleared Network Engineer (Proxies) - Cumbria -

SmartSourcing are looking for experienced Network Engineers with Proxy Infrastructure expertise to join a high performing Network Operations team supporting a complex enterprise environment.

You will be responsible for the management, maintenance and support of a large scale Proxy infrastructure consisting of:10 Non-Business Proxy Servers3 Business Proxy Servers14 Conferencing Messaging Proxy Servers1 Test Environment2 PAC File Servers

This is an excellent opportunity for a Network Engineer with strong operational support experience who enjoys troubleshooting, implementing changes, and supporting business critical network services.

Key Responsibilities

Provide Level 2/3 network incident diagnosis and resolution.

Support and maintain Proxy infrastructure across 28 Servers.

Perform monthly server patching and maintenance activities.

Handle approximately 30-40 incidents per week.

Process 20-30 web access requests per week.

Implement network changes and service requests.

Support new project implementations, including SAS applications.

Assist with server deployments and other ad hoc infrastructure activities.

Work closely with stakeholders and technical teams to maintain service availability.

Follow ITIL processes and best practices.

Required Skills ExperienceEssential:

Strong experience supporting enterprise network environments.

Proven experience supporting Proxy Infrastructure.

Experience in:

Server maintenance and operational support

Incident and problem management

Change implementation

Patch management

Web access administration

Network troubleshooting

Valid networking certifications demonstrating technical proficiency.

Strong understanding of ITIL processes.

Desirable:

Palo Alto Firewalls

Check Point Firewalls

Cisco Firepower

Cisco ASA

Cisco AnyConnect Remote Access

Knowledge of routing protocols including:

BGP

OSPF

EIGRP
