Job Title: Project Manager - Migration Integration
Location: London / Hybrid
Contract Type: 6 months contract
Our client, a leading organisation in the banking sector, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to join their team in London / Edinburgh. This exciting opportunity involves supporting the planning and delivery of migration activities for existing and legacy products to future state platforms and external providers. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that each migration is executed seamlessly, with a strong focus on customer outcomes and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and manage the end-to-end integrated migration plan, from mobilisation through to closure.
- Establish delivery scope, objectives, milestones, and critical paths in collaboration with internal stakeholders and partners.
- Coordinate work across all relevant business and platform teams to ensure alignment and efficiency.
- Lead engagement with partners and suppliers, setting clear expectations regarding inputs, dependencies, and approvals.
- Maintain robust governance through delivery reporting, RAID management, and escalation routes.
- Ensure operational readiness across teams, partners, and suppliers, including training and incident management.
- Plan and govern dress rehearsals and live migration events, ensuring clear entry and exit criteria are established.
- Document all delivery artefacts, approvals, lessons learned, and ensure they are stored appropriately.
Key Deliverables:
- An integrated migration strategy and delivery plan with a defined critical path.
- Comprehensive RAID, dependency, and decision logs with assigned owners and target dates.
- A readiness framework addressing customer, data, technology, operations, and supplier readiness.
- Detailed plans for dress rehearsals and cutover, including contingency arrangements.
- A thorough closure report, assessing benefits and outcomes with documented lessons learned.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrable project management or integration experience in complex migrations involving third parties.
- Proven ability to manage multiple delivery initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong planning capabilities, including milestone planning and cross-functional dependency management.
- Exceptional client-facing and senior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and navigate challenging conversations.
- Proficient governance capabilities with a proactive approach to RAID management and executive-level reporting.
- Solid understanding of the migration lifecycle, encompassing data mapping, testing, and reconciliation processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with tools such as Jira or Microsoft Project is desirable.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in pensions, investments, or other regulated financial services.
- Understanding of customer communications, operational readiness, and data controls.
- Familiarity with multi-vendor delivery models and agile/waterfall delivery methodologies.
