Salary: $38.46 per hour (base rate of $30.77 per hour plus Casual Loading)
About the roleThe Class Preparation Assistant role is a hands on position supporting training in Commercial Cookery and Hospitality. The assistant will ensure classrooms, equipment, and resources are prepared, maintained, and ready for delivery, working closely with teaching staff to create a smooth and effective learning environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining high hygiene standards and HACCP compliance, including safe food handling, storage, and disposal.
- Preparing class materials and assisting with food preparation.
- Washing up dishes and maintaining clean workspaces.
- Managing stock and inventory.
- Ensuring all equipment and facilities meet safety and compliance requirements in a fast paced, practical environment.
You are a reliable and proactive team player who enjoys hands on work and thrives in a fast paced environment. You have a positive and approachable attitude, and you are comfortable taking direction while working both independently and collaboratively.
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail with cleanliness and organisation.
- Physical capability to meet the demands of an active role.
- Sound knowledge of food handling and safety practices.
- Certificate II in Hospitality, or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience (essential).
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification (highly regarded).
- Valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to commencing.
- Australian citizen, permanent resident of Australia, or New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand passport.
