Quick Overview
Job Description
Description:
- Part of a dynamic team building and implementing the enterprise Demand Management intake and routing capability within the Apptio platform, focused on configuration, data architecture, and scalable reporting
- Serves as a hands-on ("hands on keyboard") Apptio technical resource responsible for developing solution components in TBM Studio / Apptio architecture (data tables, transforms, models, metrics, and reports).
- Designs and implements the end-to-end intake workflow framework within Apptio, including request capture, tollgate routing, validations, approvals/rejections, exception handling, and lifecycle management (audit trail, archival, and retrieval).
- Builds and maintains Apptio data tables and transformation pipelines (ingestion, joins, filters, formulas, mapping, date partitioning) to support demand intake and workflow data structures and ensure performant, repeatable refresh routines.
- Implements and extends the underlying Apptio data model to represent demand objects, routing attributes, stage-gates, and governance outputs, ensuring the model structure supports downstream reporting and analytics.
- Develops validation controls and data quality guardrails (standardized fields, mapping rules, reconciliation checks, and exception detection) to improve consistency of intake records and trust in reporting outputs
- Creates modeled and calculated metrics and supports model-driven calculations that enable KPI reporting (volume, cycle time, aging, status distributions, exception rates) for operational governance insights.
- Designs and delivers Apptio reporting artifacts (dashboards/reports/exports) that present modeled demand and governance results to stakeholders with audit-ready traceability and explainability.
- Implements integration patterns for inbound/outbound data exchange using Apptio Platform API and/or Datalink connectors, enabling automated uploads/downloads, scheduling, and repeatable operational runs.
- integration connectivity where required via Datalink (including REST-based ingestion patterns) and ensures scheduled loads complete successfully with appropriate monitoring and error handling.
- Executes controlled development practices within TBM Studio (project administration, versioning/branching, supports promotion/lock where applicable) and supports release readiness through

Strong data skills: data quality checks, reconciliation/variance analysis, and control-oriented documentation/runbooks
Experience implementing validation rules/guardrails to improve intake consistency and downstream trust
Familiarity with integration patterns for Apptio data movement (scheduled loads, connectors, API-based uploads/downloads)
Ability to troubleshoot build/performance issues and support controlled promotion/release practices
Exposure to TBM/FinOps concepts and standard taxonomy/mapping approaches (helpful for scalable reporting)
Hands-on Apptio development experience (data tables/transforms, data model/metrics, reporting/dashboards)
