Senior Safety Performance Engineer | Auburn Hills, MI, United States | Hybrid This automotive leader is seeking a skilled engineer to drive crucial safety development initiatives for their vehicle programs, ensuring the timely achievement of all safety functional objectives. The role involves a blend of strategic planning, hands-on testing, and cross-functional collaboration within a dynamic automotive environment. The Role • Lead safety development activities, including impact script development and identifying design enablers for assigned vehicle programs. • Set customer functional objectives targets and execute vehicle-level test plans for regulatory and third-party safety ratings. • Own safety performance, lead attribute teams, and support technical club and vehicle program requests to ensure vehicle integration and validation. • Investigate vehicle issues, determine root causes, and lead cross-disciplinary teams for issue resolution. • Oversee physical and component testing, including planning and execution from concept through launch, in conjunction with CAE validation. • Travel to testing facilities as required. What You'll Need • Strong technical acumen in automotive safety engineering. • Proven experience in vehicle regulatory and third-party safety ratings. • Ability to lead attribute teams and support cross-functional engineering efforts. • Experience with physical testing and component testing planning and execution. • Excellent communication and organizational skills. • Familiarity with CAE validation processes is a plus.
