Job Description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Non-IT Business Analyst - Security Metrics & Reporting - Hybrid (3 days onsite) position with a Global Financial Institution located in New York, NY. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity. Pay range: Up to $55.28 per hour W2 only.

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the Security Metrics & Reporting function within the Business Management team. This role serves as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, supporting strategic initiatives through data analysis, reporting, requirements gathering, and process improvement activities. The successful candidate will combine strong business analysis capabilities with hands-on reporting and data analysis skills, working closely with cybersecurity, technology, risk, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to gather, document, and clarify business and reporting requirements
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working sessions to understand business needs and reporting objectives
  • Analyze current business processes and identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and enhanced reporting capabilities
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and reporting requirements for technical teams
  • Collect, organize, validate, and analyze data from internal systems, databases, spreadsheets, and reporting platforms
  • Write and execute basic SQL queries to perform data extracts, reconciliation, and analysis activities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance recurring reports, dashboards, scorecards, and executive presentations
  • Create visualizations and reporting deliverables using Excel, Power BI, and other analytics tools
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
  • Support testing, user acceptance activities, training, and deployment of new reporting solutions and system enhancements
  • Facilitate communication between business users and technical teams throughout project and reporting lifecycles
  • Support ad hoc reporting requests and data analysis initiatives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve data quality issues and improve reporting accuracy and consistency
  • Maintain business requirements, process documentation, reporting procedures, and supporting artifacts
  • Ensure reporting and analysis activities align with applicable data governance, privacy, and information security requirements

Requirements:
  • 4-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst, or related role
  • Experience gathering business requirements, facilitating stakeholder discussions, and documenting functional specifications
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, lookups, and advanced reporting techniques
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or comparable business intelligence tools
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including the ability to create and execute queries for data extraction and validation
  • Experience with process mapping and business process analysis
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.

Desired skills:
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity, risk management, technology, governance, or regulatory reporting functions
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity metrics, KPIs, KRIs, executive dashboards, and performance reporting
  • Experience with JIRA, Visio, Confluence, or similar project and business analysis tools
  • Exposure to data governance, data quality, and information management practices
  • Experience working with Power Query, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or other modern analytics platforms
  • Understanding of information security concepts and controls
