Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Credit Risk Policy Consultant to support a large-scale enterprise Credit Policy transformation initiative within a leading U.S. financial institution. This role will partner with Credit Risk, Credit Governance, and business stakeholders to develop and harmonize enterprise credit policies, create executive committee materials, and leverage AI tools to accelerate policy analysis and documentation. This is a hands-on individual contributor role requiring strong expertise in Credit Risk, Credit Policy, Governance, and Banking, along with exceptional writing, documentation, and presentation skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Draft, revise, and maintain enterprise Credit Policy documents using SME input, legacy policies, and business requirements.
  • Compare and consolidate multiple legacy credit policies into a unified enterprise policy framework.
  • Collaborate with Credit Risk, Credit Governance, Underwriting, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into policy documentation.
  • Utilize AI productivity tools such as Claude (Anthropic), Microsoft Copilot, or ChatGPT to perform document comparisons, policy analysis, and content drafting.
  • Develop executive-level PowerPoint presentations and committee materials for Credit Risk Committees and senior leadership.
  • Participate in governance meetings, document action items, and incorporate stakeholder feedback into policy updates.
  • Ensure policy documentation aligns with enterprise governance standards, regulatory expectations, and organizational frameworks.
  • Independently manage multiple deliverables while meeting project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Credit Risk, Credit Governance, Credit Policy, Enterprise Risk, or Banking Risk Management.
  • Proven experience drafting, reviewing, or maintaining enterprise Credit Policy documentation.
  • Strong understanding of commercial, corporate, or wholesale banking credit risk.
  • Knowledge of credit governance frameworks, underwriting standards, delegation of authority, portfolio management, risk methodologies, and credit approval processes.
  • Experience creating executive-level PowerPoint presentations for senior management and governance committees.
  • Exceptional written communication, documentation, and analytical skills.
  • Hands-on experience using AI productivity tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise policy harmonization or post-merger integration initiatives.
  • Prior consulting experience with a Big Four consulting firm or major financial institution.
  • Familiarity with enterprise policy hierarchies, governance frameworks, and banking regulatory expectations.
  • Experience supporting Credit Risk Committees, Enterprise Risk Committees, or governance boards.
  • Exposure to CECL, IFRS 9, Risk Appetite Frameworks, or enterprise credit governance programs.
