Job Description

Senior Systems Administrator | Belleville, IL, United States | Hybrid | $92,300.00 - $166,850.00 This employer is a leading technology solutions provider for the defense and intelligence sectors, focused on delivering innovative capabilities to support critical national security missions. They are seeking a seasoned Senior Systems Administrator to join a high-performing IT operations team working on mission-critical systems that underpin advanced intelligence and geospatial initiatives. The Role • Lead system administration for Linux and Windows-based systems within secure, mission-critical environments. • Architect and manage complex server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure, including VMware and KVM. • Perform OS installation, configuration, hardening, and patching in compliance with stringent security standards. • Monitor and tune system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve complex issues efficiently. • Develop and maintain robust backup, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations strategies. • Drive system enhancements and modernization initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams. What You'll Need • Active Top Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI with Polygraph. • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field with 8-12 years of experience, or equivalent in experience. • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CASP+, CISSP). • Proven experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and Windows Server administration. • Proficiency with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM) and automation/scripting tools (Ansible, Bash, PowerShell). • Experience supporting IC or DoD classified environments and familiarity with STIG compliance and RMF processes.
