Position Type & Timing
This is a full-time internship opportunity during the summer before Junior Year of college. Candidates currently enrolled in a procurement or supply chain undergraduate degree program are highly preferred.
Overview
The Procurement Intern position is a versatile supportive role within the Global Procurement organization. This opportunity provides exposure to the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, giving the candidate hands-on experience in strategic sourcing, supplier operations, process optimization, and cross-functional team collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day operations and key initiatives across various procurement teams and categories.
- Assist with supplier communications, information gathering, and initial performance reviews using standard procurement tools and AI
- Support strategic sourcing projects, including research, documentation, and coordination for RFPs or vendor evaluations
- Help track, organize, and maintain procurement data, contracts, and supplier records within enterprise systems
- Ability to support supplier relationship management (SRM) and build trust with internal business units
- Collaborate with Category Managers, Procurement Directors, and internal cross-functional teams (e.g., Legal, Operations, Finance) on special projects
- Participate in departmental planning sessions, process improvement efforts, and sustainability/CSR initiatives
- Prepare presentations, summaries, and status updates for procurement leadership
- Other responsibilities as needed to support business requirements
- Strong organizational, detail-orientation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Proficiency in standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing project needs.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and reliability.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn about the broader procurement and supply chain function.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
The salary range for this role at the noted RRD location is $20.00 - $25.00 / hour. Starting pay decisions
are determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications,
skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other business
needs. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on
the role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay.
