SAP Operations Lead

About the role

As the SAP Operations Lead, you will lead the operational performance, governance and continuous improvement of Hydro Tasmania's SAP environment. Reporting to the IT Applications Manager, you'll provide technical leadership across the whole business and IT stakeholders, lead a specialist SAP team, and manage strategic vendor partnerships to deliver reliable, secure and high performing SAP services.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational performance, governance and continuous improvement of the SAP environment.
• Build team capability, coach and mentor SAP specialists, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Translate complex technical issues into business outcomes and lead operational excellence across incident, problem and change management.
• Oversee SAP upgrades, resilience, compliance and risk management.
• Manage strategic vendor partnerships and influence SAP roadmap, investment and optimisation initiatives.
• Build trusted relationships with business leaders, executives and technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in IT or a related discipline (preferred).
• ITIL certification and experience in SAP Basis, integration or cloud (advantageous).
• Significant experience leading SAP operations in complex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated success leading teams and fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and commercial acumen.
• Experience managing vendors and service providers to deliver operational and business outcomes.

You will lead a specialist SAP Operations team within IT Operations, partnering closely with Applications, Infrastructure, Cyber Security and business leaders across the Hydro Tasmania Group.
