API/Mobile Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Position Title: API/Mobile Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Retail Technology

Location: Campton Hill IL (Onsite)

Duration: 6+ months

Job Description:

QA Engineer with strong hands-on experience in **API/Mobile Manual Testing and Automation** within a **Retail/E-commerce environment**.

The role is focused on **Mobile Testing, data integrity, and end-to-end retail transactions**, using the specified tools across test execution, automation, and debugging.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Web / Mobile systems.

Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing of Web/Mobile applications.

Validate integrations with payment gateways, inventory systems, loyalty/rewards, and back-office applications.

Conduct end-to-end transaction testing (web, cash, credit/debit, mobile wallets, discounts, returns, voids, etc.).

Log defects, track resolution, and perform retesting.

Support automation of Mobile (iOS/Android) test scenarios where applicable.

Ensure testing aligns with compliance standards

Provide detailed test reports and recommend improvements.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills:

5+ years of experience in functional digital/Mobile testing.

Strong understanding of retail transaction flows and hands-on experience in **Mobile Application Testing (iOS & Android)**

Experience using HTTP Proxy applications: Charles/Fiddler or similar tools

Experience with Mobile devl tools (Android Studio/Xcode )

Experience with Test/defect management tools (e.g., JIRA,Testrail).

Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Experience with test automation frameworks.

Familiarity with databases (SQL queries for backend validation)

Expertise in **Appium Mobile Automation Framework**
Strong experience with **Java, Maven, TestNG/JUnit**
Solid experience in **Mobile Manual Testing using Postman**
Experience in **Mobile Automation using Appium/Java/Test NG or equivalent frameworks**
Strong understanding of REST APIs, Mobile Testing (iOS/Android/Web) OAuth, JWT, JSON, and API integrations
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Cruise Control, GitHub Actions, or similar
Experience with network debugging tools such as Proxyman or Charles Proxy
Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments
