Job Description

Role Overview

The Infrastructure Engineer will work within the Civil Solutions Infrastructure Team to assemble, deploy, configure, commission, and support complex ICT infrastructure components for Civil Solutions projects. The goal is to maintain excellent customer relations and deliver high quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Become competent in the deployment of discrete ICT infrastructure components using COTS software and hardware.
  • Install and configure infrastructure components according to approved reference designs and documentation.
  • Proactively progress assigned work, coordinating with others to ensure successful delivery of services.
  • Promote a "Customer First" culture to achieve optimal outcomes for internal and external customers.
  • Provide technical review of documents, configurations and other artefacts in line with company or project requirements.
  • Create documentation to capture design decisions and implementation details for consistent delivery.
  • Assist remote site rollout teams and travel for deployment and commissioning during project delivery phases.
  • Develop relationships with Saab Project, Field Support and Engineering Teams to balance workloads across the group.
  • Support others as part of a rotating on call roster (out of hours on call optional).
Required Technical Skills
  • Install and configure networking infrastructure, manage firewall and security products.
  • Configure and manage network admission control software and hardware.
  • Manage and support server based virtualisation solutions and Windows Server products.
  • Install, configure and support backup and recovery solutions, workstation configuration and management, OEM software configuration, and licensing.
  • Configure and support PCoIP, thin clients, KVMs, SNMP trap monitoring, license management and distribution.
  • Apply configuration and change management principles; knowledge of release and deployment practices.
  • Apply engineering principles for verification and testing; manage and execute automation and utility scripts.
Certifications & Licences
  • Relevant engineering degree.
  • Construction Industry White Card (or ability to obtain one).
  • Security Installers Licence for Australia and New Zealand (or ability to obtain one).
Security Clearance

Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance, preferably to baseline level.

Travel & On Call Requirements
  • Travel interstate and overseas may be required.
  • Presence required at sites such as active correctional or detention facilities.
  • Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and a 9 day fortnight are considered.
