Job Description

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Systems Administrator III to support our Epic Prelude and Grand Central applications within our health systems environment. In this role, you'll administer and optimize Epic infrastructure, manage configurations, monitor system performance, and ensure high availability for patient registration, scheduling, and admission workflows. You'll troubleshoot complex issues, coordinate upgrades and patches, collaborate with clinical and IT teams, and maintain security and compliance standards. You will document procedures, improve automation, and mentor junior staff while supporting a 24/7, patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and optimize Epic Prelude and Grand Central systems for health system operations
  • Monitor performance, availability, and capacity of Epic and supporting infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, including on-call support
  • Plan and implement upgrades, patches, and configuration changes following change management processes
  • Ensure security, compliance, and data protection in line with healthcare regulations
  • Collaborate with clinical, operations, and IT teams to support workflows and projects
  • Maintain documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
  • Automate routine tasks and improve system reliability and efficiency
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for incident escalation and resolution
  • Mentor junior administrators and contribute to best practices and standards
