Job Description

Business Analyst – Strategy & Planning

London

Initially 6-month contract

£200-£300 per day

cer Financial are working alongside an international bank, who are based in London. They are seeking a Business Analyst to work with them on a 6-month contract.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Strategy & Planning team in delivering the 2025–2029 Strategic Plan and priorities.
  2. Gather, document and validate business requirements across strategic and transformation initiatives.
  3. Analyse current and future processes, identify gaps, inefficiencies and control weaknesses, and recommend improvements.
  4. Prepare business cases, options analysis and cost–benefit assessments to support investment and prioritisation decisions.
  5. Support the enterprise planning cycle, including milestones, planning calendars and coordination with Finance and Risk.
  6. Maintain strategic initiative trackers, monitor delivery, and escalate risks, dependencies and slippage.
  7. Develop KPIs, dashboards, scorecards and management information for senior decision-making.
  8. Act as a key link between Strategy & Planning, Transformation, business units and support functions.
  9. Coordinate strategy workshops, quarterly reviews and planning sessions, including materials, logistics and actions.
  10. Build strong relationships with Finance, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Operations, HR and business lines.
  11. Prepare and quality-assure Board, Management Committee and senior executive papers, packs and presentations.
  12. Support governance and committee processes, including agendas, minutes, action tracking and assurance/attestation.
  13. Provide analytical and delivery support to major programmes and regulatory change initiatives.
  14. Track and support mitigation of risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
  15. Support change management, communications and adoption across impacted areas.

The candidate will need:

  1. Strong Business Analysis experience, including requirements gathering, process mapping, gap analysis and developing practical solutions.
  2. Experience supporting strategy, planning, transformation or change programmes, ideally within financial services.
  3. Experience with planning, performance management, KPIs, dashboards and management information.
  4. Experience working with governance, committees, senior management and/or Board-level reporting.
  5. Strong understanding of risk, regulatory requirements and controls, ideally in a UK banking/financial services environment.
  6. High level of integrity, attention to detail and professional judgement, particularly when handling senior and regulatory outputs.
