Role : Solutions Architect (ServiceNow IRM/GRC)

ROLE OVERVIEW :-

Solution Architect for ServiceNow IRM (Integrated Risk Management), supporting Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) within the Financial and Non-Financial Risk Engineering org. This role supports the Risk Compliance Enhancement (RCE) program a regulatory-driven initiative consolidating GRC capabilities onto the ServiceNow IRM platform. Program has been underway 2-3 years, with major delivery starting in the past year and multiple releases planned through 2027.

This is a hybrid Solution Architecture / Senior Engineering role most hands-on dev is done by the APAC engineering team, while NA houses senior engineering, architecture, and business-facing work. Candidate should be comfortable at both levels: high-level architecture AND hands-on technical guidance when needed.

Must Have :-

ServiceNow IRM (Integrated Risk Management) this is the #1 priority, more important than general ServiceNow experience

Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) background

Experience implementing regulatory/compliance capabilities

Enterprise environment experience, financial institutions strongly preferred

Solution architecture experience, comfortable staying hands-on

Strong communicator, active in Agile ceremonies

Demonstrated ownership/accountability

Preference for out-of-the-box ServiceNow solutions over customization

Snowflake integration exposure

Data Mesh exposure

Regulatory program experience

Local to Chicago strongly preferred

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (broader systems/data architecture angle) :-

Proven experience in engineering and software architecture design

Strong experience building data pipelines & data processing architectures using Azure Cloud & NoSQL

In-depth knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.

Solid knowledge of OS and databases

Experience building data warehouse architecture

Snowflake or Redshift experience

RESPONSIBILITIES :-

Design solutions within ServiceNow IRM; translate business requirements into technical architecture

Recommend OOTB ServiceNow capabilities before customization

Participate in technical delivery when needed; support engineering efforts

Collaborate with global (APAC) engineering teams

Assess current systems architecture and recommend improvements

Resolve technical problems as they arise

Provide supervision/guidance to development teams

Research emerging technologies and propose changes

Communicate technical issues and business impact to stakeholders

Provide updates on development processes, costs, and budgets
