Job Description

Position Summary

The Task Lead – Operations / Action Officer leads the Operations workstream and serves as the primary integrator of tasking across all lines of effort (LOEs). This individual acts as the organization''s senior Action Officer, coordinating investment profiles, synchronizing cross-functional taskers, and serving as the principal point of coordination with senior military and civilian leadership. The role requires an on-site presence and the ability to operate effectively within senior-leader-level forums.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Operations workstream, serving as the primary Action Officer responsible for integrating tasking across all lines of effort (LOEs).

• Coordinate, track, and synchronize investment profiles across stakeholder organizations and leadership forums.

• Serve as the principal point of coordination with senior military and civilian leaders, preparing briefings, decision papers, and status updates.

• Integrate cross-functional taskers and ensure alignment of priorities, timelines, and deliverables across lines of effort.

• Support senior leader engagements and decision forums, including preparation of read-aheads, talking points, and follow-up actions.

• Track suspenses, taskers, and action items to closure; proactively identify and escalate risks and issues to leadership.

• Represent the program in interagency, joint, and senior-level forums as required.

Required Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret security clearance, required prior to start, with the ability to maintain clearance throughout employment.

• Retired U.S. military officer (O-6 / Colonel) or senior civilian equivalent (GS-15) with a background in operations, staff work, or program management.

• Demonstrated experience coordinating with senior military and civilian leadership in senior-level government environments.

• Strong working knowledge of DoD tasking processes, Action Officer procedures, and investment/portfolio coordination.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive-level briefings and decision documents.

• Ability to work on-site on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience serving as an Action Officer within a senior-level government, military, or defense organization.

• Familiarity with the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process.

• Bachelor''s degree required; Master''s degree preferred, including professional military education or equivalent.
