REMOTE / 90-95HR / EAST COAST CLIENT
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PeopleSoft / Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Database Administrator to support, administer, optimize, and modernize critical enterprise PeopleSoft environments hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This role will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, performance tuning, security, and availability of PeopleSoft applications and Oracle databases supporting Finance, HCM, and Supply Chain business operations.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in PeopleSoft administration, Oracle Database technologies, OCI cloud services, infrastructure automation, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and migration projects. The successful candidate will partner closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
PeopleSoft Administration
- Administer and support PeopleSoft environments including Development, Test, QA, UAT, and Production.
- Install, configure, patch, clone, and upgrade PeopleSoft applications and PeopleTools.
- Manage PeopleSoft application servers, process schedulers, web servers, Integration Broker, and related components.
- Perform environment refreshes, migrations, and application deployments.
- Support PeopleSoft HCM, FSCM, Campus Solutions, and/or related modules.
- Troubleshoot application, performance, integration, and batch processing issues.
Oracle Database Administration
- Administer Oracle databases in mission-critical environments.
- Perform database installations, upgrades, patching, backups, recovery, and cloning activities.
- Monitor database performance and proactively address performance bottlenecks.
- Optimize SQL, indexes, storage structures, and database configurations.
- Implement database security, auditing, and compliance controls.
- Support Oracle Data Guard and high-availability architectures.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Design, deploy, and support PeopleSoft environments hosted within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- Manage OCI Compute, Storage, Networking, Load Balancers, and Identity and Access Management (IAM).
- Monitor cloud resource utilization and optimize performance and cost.
- Support cloud migrations and modernization initiatives.
- Implement OCI security and disaster recovery best practices.
- Work with OCI monitoring, logging, automation, and backup services.
Performance & Reliability
- Ensure system availability, scalability, and operational readiness.
- Perform root cause analysis for production incidents.
- Establish monitoring, capacity planning, and alerting processes.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
- Support 24x7 production operations as needed.
Automation & DevOps
- Develop scripts and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Support CI/CD deployment processes for application and database changes.
- Utilize automation tools for patching, monitoring, provisioning, and reporting.
- Maintain infrastructure-as-code and cloud deployment standards where applicable.
Project & Technical Leadership
- Lead technical initiatives involving PeopleSoft upgrades, migrations, and OCI deployments.
- Participate in architecture reviews and technology roadmap planning.
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior administrators.
- Collaborate with vendors, Oracle support, developers, and business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 8+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
- 5+ years supporting enterprise PeopleSoft environments.
- 3+ years of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) administration experience.
- Strong expertise with:
- Oracle Database 12c/19c/21c
- PeopleTools administration
- Oracle Data Guard
- RMAN Backup & Recovery
- Performance tuning and optimization
- Linux/Unix administration
- Shell scripting
- Experience with PeopleSoft upgrades, patching, and migrations.
- Experience supporting highly available production environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) certifications.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Database Administrator certification.
- Experience migrating on-premise PeopleSoft environments to OCI.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or cloud automation tools.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and container technologies.
- Experience supporting Financials (FSCM), Human Capital Management (HCM), or Campus Solutions.
- Familiarity with Oracle GoldenGate.
- Experience with security, audit, and regulatory compliance requirements.
